Wherever you talk of quality you can see that growers use one rootstock of ours.

We are in Pachino, homeland of high quality tomatoes. Pachino does not mean only cherry but also green ribbed tomato that we think to be the real excellence of this area. It is definitely not easy to achieve high quality standard with this type of tomato and a very big part of growers have no little problem to achieve these results. Plant has to be managed between life and death with a wise management of feedings and an expert ruling of water salinity in order to have a unique features final product. In this area, like the rest of the Italian tomato areas, soil pathologies became a strong limiting factor for cultivations and this is one of the reason why farmers started growing grafted plants. Anyway the all features that make Pachino greed tomato unique are not easy to achieve whit rootstocks because of the different “foot”.

We need a rootstock able to not warp the fruit, able to keep the typical greed and plat shape of the fruit, the marked green shoulder and the taste above all. Many products have been failure but now, after years of research and experimentation, the solution is already set on the field thanks to Fenix products that are able to not distort the organoleptic features of this unique product and, sometimes, are even able to improve them. This is an important message/answer for the ones who feared about salinity resistance to the point that the greed/Devils bond is becoming a real must for this area. Somebody is even able to grow on the area of an old clay cave, an asphyxial zone with very high salinity, this thanks to Fenix products ! Fenix rootstocks pledge so uniformity of size very high quality standard reducing the waste to almost zero and, moreover, these grafting allow the grower to realize a much longer cycle as it is showed in this video sent from one friend of ours.
